Rohingya rape victim recalls tragedy
By Jerome CalayagA young Rohingya resident shared her struggles with the Burmese soldiers during the crisis of the stateless people in Myanmar
Ismat,15, was gang raped multiple times by soldiers until she escaped the violence in said country.
“I was screaming. They raped anybody, married, adult, teenager [and] even little girls,” she stated in their language in a video posted by In the Now.
She was living together with her parents and siblings when the soldiers attacked their village and slayed her family.
“I don’t know how to be happy without my parents and my siblings. I’m reminded of it every night when I try to go to sleep,” Ismat added.
Myanmar started the deliberate killings of the Rohingya that led to abuse and widespread raping towards the women and girls but the government denied these allegations.

Lacks details/context. Why should I read your article if I can just watch the video? What can you add to the storytelling?
